UiTM Research Team Visit to Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (7 April 2014)

I was really honored to be invited to join a team of researchers (lead by our Dean) from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering UiTM on an academic visit to Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. This visit was specifically to the Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Lab and also the UTP Centre for Intelligent Signal and Imaging Research (CISIR).

I was truly excited as the last time i visited UTP was in year 2004 (that long ago, huh?)

We arrived at noon and had a truly fruitful visit to the two labs and UTP's magnificent library. What a sprawling, beautiful place this university is (minus the very warm temperature as we arrived right smack in the afternoon). Thank you for having us, UTP and for being such a great host!

Remember Puan Norshuhani? I am grateful of her warm welcome to the Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Lab in UTP
We can't help but to take picture with the magnificent background. So green and peaceful.
Wow. Look at this amazing display of books on the shelves. So cool man.
Amazed is more like it

As for me, I gained some interesting information which are very useful to my research and also my future plans. FYI, UTP does offer post-doc positions. Yummy! And it is only 2 hours away from my hometown, Taiping. Extra yummy!

This term always come to my attention and 'pops out' during the UiTM convocation ceremony. Yesterday I saw a post on the hooding ceremony (again) when my other half was browsing through IPSis UiTM's FB page. IPSis wrote that 52 PhD graduates had successfully completed their studies in UiTM and will receive their scroll in the 81st convocation ceremony. It is simply a ceremony held for students graduating with a master’s or PhD degree. The placing of the hood signifies the passage from student to 'master's' or ‘PhD'. The hooding ceremony and recognition of students’ accomplishments draw attention to the scholarly and the personal achievements of the candidates for g
