Assalamualaikum Dear readers, Here's a super short post about the Walk for Autism program on 5th Nov 2016, an annual event by NASOM that I could never miss :) These are the brief intro on the Walk taken from NASOM official website: " There is no other event like the NASOM Walk for Autism 2016. Everybody is included and no one is left behind. Walking together, hand in hand with kids of all ages with autism and other disabilities, some even in wheelchairs. Walking with Malaysians from all walks of life regardless of age, colour, gender, religion, ancestral origin, ethnic group, social status, profession, income levels, even with expatriates and foreign visitors. It is what our society should be – inclusive.  NASOM Walk for Autism 2016 will be hosted by NASOM Gombak centre located at Taman Rowther, Gombak, previously located at Setapak Garden. The NASOM Walk for Autism 2016 will be held at Taman Metropolitan (Taman Layang-Layang), Kepong on Saturday 5 November 20

Assalamualaikum Hi! In my previous post I've blogged about the 2016 National Robotics Competition (NRC) in UTP. Now, NRC was part of the Robot Fiesta Malaysia 2016. Other than the NRC, there were 2 separate robotic events which was also held in UTP: the IEEE PRIDE 2016 (on 25th Sept 2016) and IEEE ROMA International Symposium 2016 (on 25-26th Sept 2016). The Center of Excellence for Humanoid Robots and Bio-Sensing (HuRoBs) and IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Malaysia Chapter are the proud organizers of the 2016 IEEE-RAS 5th International Robot PRIDE Competition (PRIDE2016). This yearly event was held in UTP (for Malaysia Round) and next in Tokyo Japan (for Japan Round) from 17th to 18th December 2016. The objective of PRIDE is to explore and exhibit innovative ideas and designs within the scope of Robotics, Sensors, Automation, Computation and Intelligent Systems. Assalamualaikum  Hi everyone! Wow. September 2016 was a really manic month for us at the faculty. New students coming in, classes starting and researches to monitor as well. Not forgetting Eid Adha celebration too :)  It was a frenzied situation for me too as there were three events organized/co-organized by IEEE RAS Malaysia that needs full support from its ExCom members. For these three robotic events, we need to be in Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in Seri Iskandar, Perak as it was the main venue. And the main program was ' Robot Fiesta Malaysia 2016 '. Assalamualaikum Last week I had the opportunity to visit Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) campus in Nilai for the first time. Alhamdulillah I get to present my paper at the 2nd International Convention on Islam, Science & Education (KONGSI'16). I presented a paper based on the work of my final year student. It was a good project on industrial robot and his work deserves to be published :) I woke up really early as the registration started at 8:00 am. The journey from Melaka took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. At the lobby of FPQS (the conference venue), many participants were already queuing up. My session was at 9:00 am. Alhamdulillah the session went well and I was so happy as I get to meet an old friend and made new friends as well. Enjoy the pictures!  Official program poster Registration counter for participants. Assalamualaikum and hi everyone Here's a very short post about a competition that my colleague, En Mahasan Mat Ali, my students and myself took part in 2 weeks ago. We presented our project: And we got a Silver Medal for our project! Alhamdulillah :) Congratulations to all team members. But I dont have a picture of all of us though. Some of our team members during the product survey with healthy children in May 2016 I am so proud of the team and hope this project can start to create awareness on the need of more affordable prosthesis for children.

Assalamualaikum Dear readers, Hope you are in the pink of health. Alhamdulillah our faculty had kicked-off the new semester for 2016/2017 on 5th September 2016. So I'd better update this little blog of mine before us lecturers get very (too) busy with classes, supervision and all :) Recently 14th August, my colleagues at UTeM and I took part in a charity run at PERKESO Rehabilitation Center, Melaka which is just 5 minits away from our Durian Tunggal Campus. There were the five different categories to choose from and we took part in the 5 KM Fun Run. Source:  https://mro.myraceonline.com/myd16/registrations We had loads of fun in support of MYDIMA (Malaysian Disability Managers' Association) and it was a great way to spend our Sunday (even though we had to wake up really early).  There's a drone to take pictures of the event! I guess there is an increasing number of researchers worldwide interested in rehab projects for autism. Need to continue my PhD work real soon
