#24March2017 IEEE RAS ExComm Visit to CAMaRo Lab in UniTEN

Here's a quick throwback post. In conjunction with the 2nd IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Malaysia Chapter meeting, a lab visit to the Centre for Advanced Mechatronics and Robotics (CAMaRo), was organized on 24th March. The visit provided valuable insight into the famous collaborative Baxter robot and other interesting robotics technology at Universiti Tenaga National (UNITEN). Having a humble history beginning as a research interest group consisting of staff and students, the Centre for Advanced Mechatronics and Robotics (Camaro) has grown over the years becoming the focal point for advancing mechatronics and robotics knowledge in the power industry through education, research and innovation. The centres objective is to nurture robotics in the university, community and nation through research, consultancy and education. Additionally, Camaro aims to establish strategic partnerships with other researchers from other research centres, universities, schools and research in

#20March2017 Graduation Ceremony for Lean Six Sigma Certification (Yellow Belt)

Assalamualaikum Recently, a simple ceremony was organized by FKP to hand-over certificates to FKP staff and students who have successfully completed the Lean Six Sigma (Yellow Belt) Training held over nine training sessions from November 2016 until March 2017.  Six Sigma is a method that provides organizations tools to improve the capability of their business processes. This increase in performance and decrease in process variation lead to defect reduction and improvement in profits, employee morale, and quality of products or services. Six Sigma quality is a term generally used to indicate a process is well controlled (within process limits ±3s from the center line in a control chart, and requirements/tolerance limits ±6s from the center line). One of the current requir

Kudos: FKP ROBOTICS OPEN DAY 2017 organized by FKP UTeM, Cytron, IEEE RAS Malaysia and Robopreneur Sdn Bhd on 8th March 2017

Assalamualaikum and good day to all, In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful. Alhamdulillah, all praises to Allah for the strengths and His blessings for our team to be able to organize this event. The first FKP Robotics Open Day was successfully organized by the Department of Robotics and Automation, Faculty of Manufacturing Engineering (FKP), UTeM on Wednesday 8th March 2017 with the official theme “Robotics is Fun!”. This event was proudly co-sponsored by Cytron Technologies Sdn. Bhd., IEEE RAS Malaysia and Robopreneur Sdn. Bhd.  The program includes three main events: the Robo-Speech Express (RoSE), exhibition and Robotics Explorace. These activities were planned with the aim to promote fun and excitement in robotics through various exciting activities. The main goal was to instill passion regarding robotics technology to the society, particularly UTeM students and children in Melaka. The open day received 19 participants for RoSE and 36 parti
