Humanoid Robot NAO Interactive Training Course: Programming & Applications, 13-15 Feb. 2014, Shah Alam, Malaysia

The moment we've been waiting for is here!

As we all know, the NAO robot is the most widely used humanoid robot for academic purposes worldwide. NAO plays an eminent role in my PhD research in human-robot interaction for children with autism.

Aldebaran Robotics in collaboration with the Center for Humanoid Robots & Bio-Sensing (HuRoBs)Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UiTM is organizing Humanoid Robot NAO training series in Malaysia. The objective is to provide real exposure and teach technical skills in programming and applications of NAO to current and future user; from beginners & intermediate up to expert level. Participants will be trained in an interactive training approach with opportunities to enhance technical skills for specific applications in academic, research and commercial purposes.

The first installment of this training series is the Humanoid Robot NAO Interactive Training Course: Programming & Applications which will be held on 13-15 February 2014 in Shah Alam, Malaysia.

Head over to Robopreneur Official Website for more information and to register online.

The training will be conducted by Mr Shawn Shi from Aldebaran Robotics Paris/Shanghai. Don't miss this opportunity!

What is a hooding ceremony?

I have always been intrigued by this event called 'the hooding ceremony' since I began my student life in UiTM about 3 years ago. This term always come to my attention and 'pops out' during the UiTM convocation ceremony. Yesterday I saw a post on the hooding ceremony (again) when my other half was browsing through IPSis UiTM's FB page. IPSis wrote that 52 PhD graduates had successfully completed their studies in UiTM and will receive their scroll in the 81st convocation ceremony. Picture take from IPSis UiTM's Facebook page Another picture take from IPSis UiTM's Facebook page Now, what is a hooding ceremony? It is simply a ceremony held for students graduating with a master’s or PhD degree. The placing of the hood signifies the passage from student to 'master's' or ‘PhD'. The hooding ceremony and recognition of students’ accomplishments draw attention to the scholarly and the personal achievements of the candidates for g...

EMC 311 MECHATRONICS: PROJECT EVALUATION DAY ON 9TH JULY 2024

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone Time seems to slip away when you're knee-deep in excitement. It's not that the clock ticks faster, but you're so engrossed that hours feel like minutes. Can you believe it? It feels like just yesterday that the semester kicked off with so much promise. We've hit Week 16—the final stretch for undergraduate students at USM this semester. For those in the EMC 311 Mechatronics course, this week was all about the ultimate showdown: the evaluation of their mobile robot projects, which make up a cool 10% of their total grade. Picture this: robots zipping around, tackling tasks, detecting obstacles, and following lines like tiny mechanical superheroes. The project isn't just about grades; it's a chance for students to flex their mechanical, programming, and problem-solving muscles in a hands-on, team-driven environment. Since day one, these future tech wizards have been split into 40 groups, working week by week to piece together their ro...
