The Beautiful Colors of NASOM (The National Autism Society of Malaysia)

Our collaboration with NASOM actually began way back in June 2011 with our first Autism Rehabilitation Workshop in UiTM.

Then, alhamdulillah NASOM officially become our research partner in January 2012 with the consent of their GM.

Interesting facts about NASOM (most info are taken from http://www.nasom.com.my/):
  • The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) is a non-profit, non-governmental welfare organisation formed in 1986 by a group of parents and professionals
  • Registered on 3rd March 1987 as a national voluntary charitable organisation and aims at providing education, help, care and protection for people with autism and their family members
  • Currently, NASOM has established 14 Early Intervention Programmes and 3 Vocational Programmes for people inflicted with autism in Malaysia
  • NASOM set to provide education, help, care and protection for people with autism and their family members
  • As NASOM is an NGO, they are always looking out for ways to raise funds for their centres and programs
  • How do we donate to NASOM? Very easy! Just go to this link (https://www.simplygiving.com/charities/donateCharity.aspx?c=d58ec978-48ba-452c-b615-c9cdbf171e94) and specify the amount that you wish to contribute
  • Sunshine September campaign was established by Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd to increase awareness on autism among the public and also raise funds for NASOM
  • NASOM offers the following activities at their centres:


Conducting a research in using a humanoid robot to assist in therapy and learning for children with autism definitely has been an eye opener for me and my research colleagues on the importance of autism awareness in Malaysia.

So NASOM, you can always count on me to be there to support all your activities in the future, insya Allah :)

What is a hooding ceremony?

I have always been intrigued by this event called 'the hooding ceremony' since I began my student life in UiTM about 3 years ago. This term always come to my attention and 'pops out' during the UiTM convocation ceremony. 🌻 NEW BEGINNINGS 🌸

Assalamualaikum wbth and good day hi everyone!  It is now July 2023 and I’m so excited to start this new chapter in my life 😊. I am happy to share that I am now a lecturer/researcher at the Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in Kepala Batas, Pulau Pinang.
