IEEE Malaysia Bowling Tournament is an annual event organized by IEEE WIE and YP Malaysia affinity groups. This time around the tournament was held in Bangi Getaway. It was a thoroughly fun and exciting experience for all of us! Congratulations to all winners. Enjoy the pictures!    

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone! Alhamdulillah my PhD student, Muhammad Aliff bin Rosly had recently won a special award during Melaka International Intellectual Exposition (MIIEx2017). MIIEx2017 is an international platform for local and international inventors and research scientists to present their inventions and innovations to a business community keen on commercialising unique inventions. The expo was held in Bayou Lagoon Park Resort, Melaka. I pray that Aliff will continue to shire bright like a star in his studies on robotics and autism, which is a continuation of my PhD work. Good luck Aliff and congratulations!  

Assalamualaikum and Good Day A short seminar 'IEEE RAS@UTeM TOUR & MEMBERSHIP DRIVE 2017 was held here in Auditorium Canselori UTeM recently on 27th October 2017. Invited speakers from UTeM, UTHM, UiTM, UniTEN, UniSEL and UTP joined forces for this memorable event, to give exposure to UTeM staff and students on the latest developments in robotics and automation worldwide. The next IEEE RAS tour will be hosted by UTHM. Can' wait!

The International Conference on Interactive Collaborative Robotics is a satellite event of the International Conference on Speech and Computer and attracts researchers in the area of human-robot interaction, social robotics and collaborative robotics. The conference is organized by St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Science (SPIIRAS, St. Petersburg, Russia), Munich University of Technology (TUM, Munich, Germany), Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR, Tomsk, Russia). Will try best to post them all, I find that blogging is an awesome way to record all the important events in my life, like an online diary :) Here's a recent UTeM event, involving my faculty directly. UTeM will be sending eight students under a Double Degree Outbound and Mobility Outbound programme at HochSchule Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Art (HsH) in Germany, this coming August. Five students from the Faculty of Manufacturing Engineering (FKP) will be in a one year programme and three from the faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE) will be in a semester programme, which is five months long.I am so proud of them! Assalamualaikum With a heavy heart, our department's staffs bid farewell to the final batch of students for the Bachelor of Manufacturing Engineering (Robotics & Automation) Program in FKP. FKP has been offering specialized programs for manufacturing engineering since November 2001. Now, foreseeing the nations fast-moving industrial developments and requirements, the faculty had introduced a new broad-based program: Bachelor of Manufacturing Engineering in 2014. This sole program will replace all the 5 specialized programs offered before this. On 25th May 2017, all the lecturers under the Dept of Robotics and Automation in FKP were invited  to attend a farewell party organized by our students. Looking at all their faces, I felt an overwhelming feeling of pride as they have grown up so much over the last 4 years thus it is time to see them embark on their next life journey. Assalamualaikum Dear readers, Our neighboring faculty, FKEKK had organized the 2017 Innovation Competition (INOTEK 2017) on 3rd May 2017 at their faculty. I was lucky to be appointed as a panel judge to evaluate the final year projects. Thank you FKEKK and congratulations for hosting such a well-organized program. I had also made it compulsory for all my final year project (FYP) students to compete in the competition. Alhamdulillah we bagged one special award, one gold medal, one silver and three bronze medals. I am awesomely proud of all my students for their commitment to finish their project earlier and present their product for iNOTEK2017.
