Farewell, au revoir to the Last Batch of Students for Bachelor of Manufacturing Engineering (Robotics & Automation) Program in FKP

Assalamualaikum

With a heavy heart, our department's staffs bid farewell to the final batch of students for the Bachelor of Manufacturing Engineering (Robotics & Automation) Program in FKP. FKP has been offering specialized programs for manufacturing engineering since November 2001. Now, foreseeing the nations fast-moving industrial developments and requirements, the faculty had introduced a new broad-based program: Bachelor of Manufacturing Engineering in 2014. This sole program will replace all the 5 specialized programs offered before this.

On 25th May 2017, all the lecturers under the Dept of Robotics and Automation in FKP were invited  to attend a farewell party organized by our students. Looking at all their faces, I felt an overwhelming feeling of pride as they have grown up so much over the last 4 years thus it is time to see them embark on their next life journey. Thank you 4BMFA for organizing the party, we are extremely proud of all of you. May you all always be successful.

I am keeping all the fond memories here.

What is a hooding ceremony?

I have always been intrigued by this event called 'the hooding ceremony' since I began my student life in UiTM about 3 years ago. This term always come to my attention and 'pops out' during the UiTM convocation ceremony. Yesterday I saw a post on the hooding ceremony (again) when my other half was browsing through IPSis UiTM's FB page. IPSis wrote that 52 PhD graduates had successfully completed their studies in UiTM and will receive their scroll in the 81st convocation ceremony. Picture take from IPSis UiTM's Facebook page Another picture take from IPSis UiTM's Facebook page Now, what is a hooding ceremony? It is simply a ceremony held for students graduating with a master’s or PhD degree. The placing of the hood signifies the passage from student to 'master's' or ‘PhD'. The hooding ceremony and recognition of students’ accomplishments draw attention to the scholarly and the personal achievements of the candidates for g...

EMC 311 MECHATRONICS: PROJECT EVALUATION DAY ON 9TH JULY 2024

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone Time seems to slip away when you're knee-deep in excitement. It's not that the clock ticks faster, but you're so engrossed that hours feel like minutes. Can you believe it? It feels like just yesterday that the semester kicked off with so much promise. We've hit Week 16—the final stretch for undergraduate students at USM this semester. For those in the EMC 311 Mechatronics course, this week was all about the ultimate showdown: the evaluation of their mobile robot projects, which make up a cool 10% of their total grade. Picture this: robots zipping around, tackling tasks, detecting obstacles, and following lines like tiny mechanical superheroes. The project isn't just about grades; it's a chance for students to flex their mechanical, programming, and problem-solving muscles in a hands-on, team-driven environment. Since day one, these future tech wizards have been split into 40 groups, working week by week to piece together their ro...
