#throwback2016 Innovative Research and Industrial Dialogue 2016 (IRID’16) on 20 December 2016 at FKP UTeM

Advanced Manufacturing Centre (AMC) of the Faculty of Manufacturing Engineering (FKP), UTeM had organized an inaugural research day: Innovative Research and Industrial Dialogue 2016 (IRID’16) on 20 December 2016.

IRID aims to offer post-graduate students as well researchers and engineers from industry, especially in the field of engineering and technology, a unique platform to present their research findings, establish a mutual knowledge transfer and networking. Three significant events took place during IRID’16:
  • Industrial Forum
  • Research Showcase (Poster Presentation Competition)
  • UTeM-Materials Lecture Competition
For the research showcase (poster presentation competition), a total of 101 Research Posters were presented, judged by 15 juries from the industry, 15 academic juries to identify 10 Best Poster Awards.

What is a hooding ceremony?

I have always been intrigued by this event called 'the hooding ceremony' since I began my student life in UiTM about 3 years ago. This term always come to my attention and 'pops out' during the UiTM convocation ceremony. Yesterday I saw a post on the hooding ceremony (again) when my other half was browsing through IPSis UiTM's FB page. IPSis wrote that 52 PhD graduates had successfully completed their studies in UiTM and will receive their scroll in the 81st convocation ceremony. The Beautiful Colors of NASOM (The National Autism Society of Malaysia)

Our collaboration with NASOM actually began way back in June 2011 with our first Autism Rehabilitation Workshop in UiTM.  Puan Rose of NASOM presenting at our 2011 Autism Workshop in UiTM Shah Alam Then, alhamdulillah NASOM officially become our research partner in January 2012 with the consent of their GM.
